Executives at o2 are likely to have an uncomfortable weekend after rival T-Mobile gazumped their launch of the much-anticipated BlackBerry Curve 8900.

T-Mobile has not only released the BlackBerry Curve 8900 earlier, but also at a lower price point - free when you sign up to a Ł35 ($52/€39) monthly contract.

Tmobile and 8900 in the same sentence sounds good together.

I'm hanging on...waiting for the 8900 here ("here" for me is the U.S. - T-Mobile). I've had an 8700, 8800, Pearl, and for the past year or so the Curve - and I'm loving it. The 8900 seems like the next step. I have to admit that a large touch screen has appeal for browsing and media, but I still need my keyboard, so I think I'm a candidate for the 8900.

I wish T-Mobile US would have pricing like Germany or the UK!

what would be the point of getting it if I already have a 3200, besides, arn't we going to get the storm and bold soon anyways. The bold has twice the processing power and twice the memory. and it has gps, wifi everything else the 8900 will have

The pearl with TMo has GPS, maybe not the ones on their website, but at the TMo stores here in SLC, they had GPS but no WiFi.

hehe, ya that sounds about right.

We just have to deal with our price-fixed plans and "competitive" device pricing here in the US.

    way to be self centered!

TMO has a new BlackBerry (for the corporate/professional consumer) once every blue moon. AT&T gets the BOLD and now you want this "first" too?!

    I'm appalled

the only TMO BB's with GPS built in are the 8800 and 8820. no pearl TMO has ever sold has GPS built in, but they will work with an external GPS reciever.

here's quick way to determine whether or not a BB has GPS or wifi

    81xx-pearl
    82xx-pearl flip
    83xx-curve
    88xx-GPS, QWERTY, No camera
    xx20-wifi
    xx10-GPS
    xx30-CDMA
