Texas Instruments shrinks its Pico projector to fit inside BlackBerry

The folks at Texas Instruments have been working for the past couple years on a clever solution to the size limitations of cellphone screens: built in projectors.

They've been showing off prototypes at trade shows for more than a year, but this one is far smaller than any I've seen before.

Not a working Curve but getting there!

A goodie like this could revolutionize training and presentations. No more lugging around a projector!

it clearly says that the curve is not a working one...its just the case with projector inside...wud b awesome though...and like one of the commentors in the other post said...battery life = 7 seconds lol. having said that, it wud b awesome if they can actually make it work and it definitely looks like one step toward it.

Just goes to show the awesome progress being made in technology today, that will be available to the public sometime in the (hopefully not too far) future! Can't wait until it's an actuality on real working phones, with improved battery life of course!

I agree...this is definitely a nice step towards greatness! Battery life is bound to improve with almost *everything* now a days running on batteries. I am sure they will figure out a way to put a nuclear core in a 1" by 0.2" by 0.2" dimensions And yes, it's not a working BB yet, but I am sure they will figure it out. At worst, it will just make it a bit thicker...maybe the way Seidio extended batteries do. None the less, it will be very useful for certain groups of people.

RIM, partner with TI ASAP, I want to see a fully functional device on 3G handling voice, data, projecting a presentation, and doing my dishes at the same time.

Saw a video of this a while back, imagine having powerpoint slides playing right off the blackbert onto the wall or sharing pics/video with a group of friends without gathering around the phone or passing it around.~via BB (wap.pinstack.com)~
