My apologies for being off topic but, how does one go about starting up a thread?

Thanks for the help in advance!

I live in a town of about 27,000 people in Kentucky and according to the map we're completely covered in 3G. Either that or someone is planning on making our city into a lake and I don't know it!!
Some of my friend's phones are 3G compatible (unlike my 8100) and they claim spotty coverage. We must live in one of the infamous "dead zones." Oh well,I'll keep my fingers crossed.

Anyone know if T-Mobile gets the bold, if it will be a different version unable to use the AT&T 3G network?

Att has already deployed 3G in NYC as well as much of the NYMetro area. New areas will be lit up with 3G monthly. I expect you will vast improvement in 3G coverage by years end. If your in NYC, I would grab a Bold as soon as it releases.

~via BB (wap.pinstack.com)~ Eeesh, more 3G anxiety for me. EDGE is why I left AT&T to begin with. My only hope for going back would be for the 3G to be as reliable and fast as my CDMA 8830 (no one give me that crap that EDGE is almost as fast as CDMA. That's just BS). I've already told my IT guy to order a Bold for me. So, I'm keeping my prayer line open!!

Ha! I agree. I work with att and my blackjack 2 on 3G is fast but my 8330 with Sprint is just as fast and if not faster than my BJ2. It might just be that its Windows Mobile. Ha!!!!

The bold still be nice..just the onboard mem alone is enough for me to switch. I love my curve, I just wish it had more mem. ~via BB (wap.pinstack.com)~

Nice assessment of the Bold/3G/ATT situation, Thx. 3G isn't a huge driver for me, the faster processor, Wi-Fi, camera, ample storage, etc... will be welcomed as I retire the ole faithful 8800.

One question; does anyone know if the Bold can be forced to EDGE mode? For those of us who have 3G but may not be using it all the time, the battery life extension by forcing EDGE would be nice.
