Do you think it would be stupid to replace my Curve with the 8120 ?
Would that be considered a downgrade ?

All you are trading off from Curve to Pearl is a smidge of size. Not worth it at all. Everything else MINUS the external memory card slot on the 8110/20/30 is a downgrade in my book.

ok I couldn't find any AIM client from mobile.blackberry.com. I've been doing a search on the forum on this too and ended up going to www.blackberry.com/aim and even that didn't work. you sent me on a wild goose chase. where did you hear that AIM have been made available for the 8100? If the AIM was indeed available, there would've been threads on it in the t-mobile subforum and the search didn't turn up anything.

I still don't understand why the 8120 would have these messenger and not the 8100?

    I am really sorry,
It was available last summer before I got My Curve. As for the WHY, the Pearl has been out for a Long time. RIM only strated making the data clients available last summer around the launch of the Curve. I can't answer for RIM as to why it was not made for the Pearl, the OSs are not that differant. But maybe enough they decided not to mess with it at this time, it is possible the Next OS release may change this.

    Was this a legitimate contest?

I just got off the phone with BlackBerry and they didn't know it exists.

I am currently on the phone with T-Mobile on hold and they said they have to check because they were unaware of this also.

There is no way to check confirmation numbers or no contact information is given except for BlackBerry, who has already said this contest is not through them.

I'll post back once I am off the phone with the TMO rep.

    Okay...

TMO has nothing to do with this contest.

    Who is hosting this contest?
