    T-Mobile at home Wi-Fi to launch 6/27

This info comes from a stacker who's been reliable in past. They've confirmed that "the tentative launch date is set for 6/27 and there will be 3 phones that support it at launch, Samsung t409, Nokia 6086 & 6136."

This seems to rule out the 8320 or for that matter the Pearl2' being launched before 6/27 at least by T-Mobile. However, they could be launched on June 29th with the iPhone. .. who knows. Lets keep wishing since both the 8320 and coming revised Pearl high points will be Wi-Fi!

The BlackBerry 8320 Smart Phone is the big brother to the BlackBerry 8300, adding WiFi connectivity for true broadband access. The 8320 features the BlackBerry OS 4.2.2 or higher, a full QWERTY keyboard, and a slightly smaller and thinner design than the BlackBerry 8800.

The BlackBerry Pearl version 2 is rumored to have WiFi and 3.2Megapixel camera, so you can better use it's multimedia features.

Thanks to Stack Pro Toddboy71 for gathering this for us.

    More soon...

Re: T-Mobile at home Wi-Fi to launch 6/27

    Actually,
I went into a T-Mobile store during lunch today to ask about upgrading to 8800, and the rep told me to wait (probably because he saw my 8700g in hand) because they were launching wifi at home on the 27th with new devices, and that the 8830 would come out shortly after that. He said that he is sure the device is coming out because it is already built and he thought it was in use in Germany or something. He also said the data plan may be similar to that of the Wing/MDA because of the hotspots/Wifi. Anyway, I found his info to be convincing seeing as though he tried to stop my from upgrading and thus he lost a sale.

Also if I understand correctly, while connected to wifi, taking and placing calls will not use plan cell minutes, and transferring the calls from wifi signal to cell tower and back while on the phone is supposed to be relatively seamless.

I really look forward to this because I live in jthe sticks and signal isn't the best. It sucks to have to go onto the porch to talk on my blackberry. I hope your right on the calls Toddboy.

I'm 99% sure of it. I know that they have been testing this in Seattle for quite some time.
And I'm in the same boat. Crappy cell coverage anywhere in my house.

Cool Beans. they just started the roaming agreement with (cingular) again so at least i do get something. I was ready to drop TM because of no coverage, and I'm glad i waited. this is going to be sweet! I love my pearl but i look forward to an upgrade.

Ok got a little bit more pricing info regarding the @home service. No idea what will happen with BB's on this plan, as there won't be one available at plan launch. But here are the initial promotions.

Single line wifi calls@ home (there is an undetermined mileage radius from your house that would fall under this) $10 a month added

    Family wifi calls @home $20

Single line wifi calls anywhere $20

Family line wifi calls anywhere, $30.

When I find out the radius, or more info, I'll post.

i read something the other day, here maybe, that wi-fi can reach up to like 200+ miles??

wish the pearl2 was supported, like Hayden said it's one of it's biggest selling points.
