This phone is hideous. why would you want to go from a curve, to this? I don't get it. Even more so now, with the Javelin, Bold, and Storm all coming. Just my opinion - I'm not trying to offend anyone, I just don't like the phone personally.

Went and played with it today.. while the OS is newer and the keyboard is larger, the Pearl "Feels" much more solid. This one feels a bit cheap.

No go for me.

Hey does anyone know if this phone has the 4 leds under the track ball like the 8100 has? Just curious, I don't think the tmo store would appreciate if I try and pop off the track ball when I go to check it out.

Question to TMo Reps: If I upgraded in May, which I did to get the 8120 (and paid $235 USD), when would I be eligible for even a partial upgrade to get the 8220? And what would the cost be? I really want this phone for the bigger keypad.
you are elegible for a partial upgrade once a month.

I've got one... Very nice device, even coming from a curve to it, I am impressed with the overall package. The 4.6 OS is very sleek, its fast, pretty. The keypad is a major major improvement over the current pearl. I'm as fast on this thing as I was on my curve qwerty, and this is only my second day of suretype! The tactile feel of he keyboard has also improved drastically, and the keys fit my fat finger much better than previous generations. Both screens are very bright and clear, especially the internal one. I know it is the same resolution as the curve, but because it is a smaller screen, it has a higher pixel density and thus looks very sharp. I was tentative after initial reviews said it was slow, ugly and had low quality screens, and most pictures of it are unflattering... but after having it in person, it is a much sleeker device then I expected...
