Archer, as i had mentionned to you by Email, my contacts are confirming to me that the 8900's OS's revision SHOULD correct every single one of the Bold's flaws.
We will see when i get my own 8900 in the next couple of days - i will make a thorough examination of the device and report back.
Do we know what OS is coming on this? 4.6?

for a device that is coming out tomorrow.... seems strange we dont know
I assume is 4.6 as 4.7 is for the storm... so unless they are jumping ot 4.8.... who knows.... I am not in "that circle" lol

So if they fix the small font issue with the release of the 8900 is it safe to assume that they will update att's bold OS?
These are some of my reasons for holding out on buying any new device yet.

My compliments for your decision to wait. You've saved yourself a lot of time, money & grief. While I like your logic, I have very little faith that it will play out that way. If it does, we can celebrate. However based on the "new approach" RIM has been taking with mediocre product launches, & buggy products, I've lost trust in them. Once a company that could be counted on to release phones that had very few issues, none of which were of this magnitude, I now have no idea what to expect from them. However that said, what is clear is that they have lowered their standards to average at best. Therefore going forward I will approach each new model expecting it to require great scrutiny before it can be trusted to perform as advertised. Flagship or not, RIM has become very sloppy.

I agree with your comment of them being sloppy.

When the pearl, curve, and 8800 series was release; there was little to no issue at all. I have no idea what happened. But I thing someone new is running things.

Exactly!

Believe me, it pains me to have to report on how the Bold is such a poor device. Anyone who follows my posts knows how much I love BlackBerrys & PinStack. And how positive my outlook is. So to be put in this position because of RIM's poor decisions & hasty release of a buggy BlackBerry, is very discouraging. I am not going to stick my head in the sand & proclaim this model as a wonderful new device, because it's not. Will it be in the future? Only RIM has control over that.

My thoughts are, if this model is as popular as the current Curve is, it's only a matter of time & RIM will release a CDMA version.
.
Cheers
