I actually love my trackball. After coming to an 8830 from 3 years of ppc, and treos, I enjoy not having the touchscreen. I appreciate the simplicty of the rim os. I am very curious to see how these device ends up!

I've been using the trackball for so long that I can't imagine life without it but this is RIM we're talking about here. Like Nintendo, they hardly ever disappoint.

Yeah that's pretty much what I was thinking. Touchscreen, slide out qwerty, I think it would be awesome. I used to be a Treo user and touchscreen is handy, but having a keyboard is a HUGE plus in my book. I think that combo with RIM would crush everyone else out there.

as for now i love my 8320. i love everything about it. if we could get a little bigger screen real estate faster processor. and hspda. im be the most excited person on this side of the planet. ats just me. not for nothing im really not a fan of the wifi on the bb. its still slower then the hspda. by far cause were running on 312mhz processors. we need to step it up to a 624mhz. hspda. 3.2 mp camra. with video and a tad bit larger screen with better resolution. lol the battery life should be around 3 hours tops.

Personally I think Blackberry knows what its up against. I mean with all the Iphones, Prada, The new Lg touch screen on Verizon. They are going to know what people like and what to do with there touch screen. Im thinking its going to be huge. Im so curious How technological its going to be. Can't wait

I'll wait to pass sentence on this device. I am interested in how RIM proposes to build this device and maintain integrity but for that, I guess only time will tell.

I'm not so sure if this is something I'd want or not. I do know that if it out distances my 8130 and is available for Verizon I'll probably end up with it. So only time will tell!

My guess that it'll be as thin as a pearl but a bit wider.

I agree on the chap that said like a sony ericsson p800 that had a rubber keys that hovered over the touchscreen and when a button was pressed a tiny rubber nub under the key touched the screen.

As for the voice commands, wow life can now imitate art a la star trek. When there's a problem that usually requires a battery pull you say, "computer end program" repeatedly and nothing happens.

Just like on the tv show.

    LoL

Ok, here's my question.. if they had touch screen tacticle feedback.. how wouldn't that violate the patent Motorola has? the outer touch screen on the RAZR2 uses it. I always thought that is what has kept some of the other touch screen phone makers from adding it.

Anyone with patent knowledge feel free to jump in and comment. I'm curious to find out more.

Motorola doesn't hold a patent. Lg phones, sony ericsson and some other companies have had haptics for a while and the patent is probably held by another company that licenses the technology to cell manufactures.
