RIM to sell BlackBerry Bold in Japan in early 2009
RIM will sell its high-end BlackBerry Bold in Japan through No.1 carrier NTT DoCoMo from early 2009.
Donald Morrison, RIM's chief operating officer, said the company sees a big opportunity in the "absolutely huge" Japanese market and necessary technologies to support RIM's products are already in place.
Well hopefully the US wont be the last for the Bold.... lol
DoCoMo a GSM or CDMA carrier?
I think there are several CDMA carriers in Japan. Not completely sure. But, hopefully the Bold will be available in CDMA sometime soon. Anyone know?
Docomo is a 3G (2100) carrier, like Softbank. So the same one non-Japanese users are getting should work fine there.
