RIM moving fast(er) on new Blackberry release!

A few days ago we published info about RIM’s new Blackberry including built-in camera. We'll never know what effect this had on RIM's lastest move to begin submission of their patent applications if any. We do know however that there are currently 11 employees of RIM who are registered members of PinStack.com - at least those using their uname@rim.com address. Checking our server user logs, two of RIM’s employees (that we know of) visited the post in question on the 5th and again yesterday.

What ever the case we're glad to see the release of this most anticipated Blackberry line now more imminent and thus helping confirm the info we posted on the 5th.

See the public documentation of RIM's camera patent application broken down by our content partner BBhub.

It will be cool. But I won't have a need for such extravagance in 1 device. For me, BB is for phone & email, iPod is for music, and Canon Digital Rebel XT is for pictures.

If there was a single device that could do what those three do, I would be amazed!

When someone makes a phone/camera with 5+ megapixel and 3+ optical zoom then il actually care if theres a camera or not. Till then its just something else that gets used once or twice while u decide if thers any real use for it. As for mp3 players, there useless all my musics ogg vorbis. lol.

As for the patent, who words those things. lol. Is it just a camera controlled by a remote signal feeing to a display or does all that mean theres more to it? And how can they patent a camera when other people have them already?

I'm not impressed by the camera or the mp3 player but WiFi connection is something I'd really like 'cause we don't have EVDO connection here for now and I don't think we'l have it until 5 years or more so I'd like to use my home connection

Shoot! That "post reply" button is just too easy to click!

When you say you want WiFi, do you mean WiFi and GSM / CDMA ?

Doesn't RIM already have a WiFi only BB?

If a BB was both WiFi and GSM / CDMA, would you buy a phone number from Vonage?

Maybe but not for now 'cause there's no number for my region available. I really like the feature and the price of Vonage but I don't want my family to do long distance call to join me

if this is a bluetooth camera, and they hav already shown the bb can be a host bluetooth device with th card reader, you think someone will begin making combined bluetooth & memory cards for cameras so people can take there pictures then browse the camera as if its a website on there Bb to send on some pics in an email. As theres already wifi / memory sd cards that would allow this with the wifi enabled BBs.
