This is the first I've heard of Facebook. Is it just like another Myspace type site? What exactly does it entail?

Well you can download the quick launcher so you have the icon on your blackberry. So you click on it and it takes you directly to facebook. Kind of like the pinstsck launcher!

Re: RIM Introduces Facebook download for BlackBerry

go to the www.blackberry.com/facebook for the pc download...if your bb is already hooked up to usb it will install it automatically without starting up DM. I'm on Rogers and it works perfect...so it's not just for TMo.

When asked for the new key store password after logging in for the first time, what does that mean?

This is application. If you get new messages it will show a little icon on the home scrreen. You can search your buddys and leave messages on their wall in real time. It is not a quick launcher.

Your messages show up in a message list or should I say activities. I recommend the download

Receive notifications and messages automatically - Leveraging the BlackBerry platform’s push-based architecture, notifications and messages are automatically sent to the user; the user can also set a unique alert (vibration and/or ringtone) for Facebook related content -

Quickly access essential features - Convenient onscreen icons let users quickly change their Status, upload a photo, add a friend, poke someone, write on a Wall, or send a message. Users can also quickly scroll through messages and notifications as they do with email messages

    - Invite friends to join Facebook and accept new friend requests
    - Quickly snap and post pictures along with a caption and tags - The photo upload feature is also integrated with the BlackBerry smartphone camera and photo management applications on the smartphone

    - View the Status of friends
    - Read, compose and reply to messages even while offline - If the user is out of wireless coverage, messages are queued until the user returns to an area of coverage
