I think I will hold off. I'm paying enough money fees related to my cell phone. I think I will stick with the internet on desktop or tv to get news. But I can see how this would possibly be useful for someone that travels a lot and doesn't have the time for the above. |

~via BB (wap.pinstack.com)~does it work for the pearl. also is there a sports channel? Do payments come on you bill or is a credit card needed? it works for me its nice so far I'm working so can't realy try it out fully. |

Nice application...too bad we couldn't use it to stream audio from other sources not affiliated.

It's available now. I downloaded it, but I get a "network busy" error when it tried to connect. Anyone have any success?

I just downloaded it. Seems pretty good. Buffers quickly. Audio quality seems pretty decient. Some of the channels could be louder though,, Just my first impressions.. Willplay with it more and post more feedback later.

Just loaded it on my Pearl (w/ Tmo service and .69 OS) from the getquickplayer.com url on my browser. It installed cleanly, and works as advertised! It only takes a few seconds to buffer, and audio quality is quite good. Impressive! I doubt I'll purchase the service, since the stuff I'd really want isn't offered, like live NPR, etc. These sound like pre-recorded audiocasts, not actual internet radio. If they allowed you to add existing streaming audio channels, or offered real streaming radio for actual radio stations, I'd happily pay a little extra for it. However, they do offer 20 or 30 second long previews of the feeds, so its easy to try out and see if its something useful to you. Definately a well polished app, too. peace, sam |
