Looks like a great accessory for those who commute or otherwise "berry" in public places. Who doesn't do the later once in a while...plus great protection for the screen too. UPDATE: Mine's ordered. Last edited by jblackfish; 02-24-2008 at 01:05 PM. Reason: ordered |

I just type "I'm thinking of stabbing the first person I make eye contact with." See if that person keeps peaking over. WATAA! |

I just received my screen in the mail today...will post some pics (if they are "legible") to show how much privacy this screen actually provides!

As promised, here are a few shots from the Privacy Screen. It's a bit on the thick side for a screen protector, but you have to take into consideration the layers that have to be put together in order for the privacy aspect of the protector to work. The photos taken "with privacy screen" are while my 8130 is turned on and not in a sleep mode...the screen is fully on (but not viewable from the side angles). I just got mine in the mail today and I am waiting to get off of work to apply it.... Can not wait to get some privacy when I am on my BB.... My wife is always over my shoulder too! She will not see me IM'n whoever now! ![]() Retraction: I installed my privacy screen and tested it out with a coworker. He said he could not see a thing from any angle around me.... I had him hold it and I check it out to macke sure and I could not see anything at all....It works Great! GREAT SCREEN for Privacy..... Last edited by stnkyq2; 02-29-2008 at 02:08 PM. |

To those that received this, is this meant for going over your regular screen protector (ie, BSE, ShieldZone, etc.) or do you use it as your full time screen protector? If the latter, does it come off easily since it just static cling? TIA! |

Privacy Screen quotes: "...ensuring that your information is protected from prying eyes, but crystal clear for you." "- Case-mate privacy screens provide crystal clear viewing whereas others create a dimming haze" "- Crystal clear viewing" I got it, installed it and it all works as advertised except for one thing: the "crystal clear" is NOT QUITE CRYSTAL CLEAR. There's about 30% less light (I'm guessing on the %) coming through the screen looking directly at it. It's like looking at the screen through (light) dark glasses. Had I known that it wasn't totally clear, I would NOT have ordered it. |

UH8, The product is great from a privacy standpoint and I didn't mean to run it down. I was just disappointed. The reason the "clear" view is important to me is because one of my battery saving tactics is to run the background screen at about 60% instead of a brighter choice - 60% is plenty bright for night or day to me. I'm convinced it saves power but, with the privacy screen and my 60%, it's fairly dark. I may be being nit-picky - I had just expected a totally "clear" view. It uses some time of polarizing technique I guess and I know that your can get totally clear polarized eyeglasses. Enough from me...it's a fine product and well worth the money for working around nosy crowds. |
