Do I need to download JDE from bb site? It says that Plazmic has the necessary JDE files packaged for easier installatio.

Do I have to uninstall previous version first?

so just to make sure i understand. the new CDK will, under no circumstances, produce themes compatible with <4.5. not even the original zen or icon themes. is there even a way to switch 4.5+ compatibility on and off maybe?

I have never built a theme.....but these newer style themes like Crossbar and Explorer had to be made with the new Plazmic not the old and those themes are compatible with my 8130 and 8330 both running 4.3........so there must be a way to make themes for versions older than 4.5 right???

I really wanted to try this but if I can't even make themes for my BBs then their's no point........can someone confirm...is it really for BBs with 4.5 and higher only???? If so then how can Crossbar and Explorer and Nancy Drew's Mario Bros themes be explained to work on 4.3???

The new CDK makes themes for 4.5, The old CDK makes themes for 4.2.

I think it can make for <4.5 but not if you try to make something with the custom template (that lets you move the icons anywhere you want). I am running 4.2 and was able to make an icon theme.
