Man, I knew that all that Apple was doing was producing that HYPE... HYPE doesnt sell phones. BIG A** Projection Screens with pics of your WACK phone dont help either.

All Apple did was come back to reality with their pricing....they should thought their pricing strategy was better than everybody elses.....seems like they were incorrect....The highest retail price I can remember on any Blackberry device is $299 if that helps you.

Very true JR_Rider, but the Bold is gonna be pretty pricey ($6-700 possibly), and Apple has dropped the iPhone to $199.99 (lowest gig)...and that's a standard price, no need for Service Plan Upgrade (2yr), just go in and buy. That's really the only kool thing about this iPhone thing...other than that - BOLD Wins, hands down. And I'd still rather pay $6-700 for a Bold then to pay $400 for the biggest iPhone

That pricing is also called desperation. Its to address the recent decline in sales. So for the first time iPhone users will be a little closer to actually getting what they've paid for. As per the above comparison, with a two year plan the Bold could sell for $100 bux more than the iPhone's 2 year deal and it would still be a deal.

Wrong. The current 2 to 3 hundred iphone pricing is SUBSIDIZED. You are REQUIRED to activate the phone in store with that price.

Will it be available for more $$ without activation? We don't know yet. But there's no way in hell you're walking out of the Apple store with an iPhone for $200 and NO contract, or contract extension.

$199 and $299 pricing = "new activations" WITH 2 year contact i suspect. existing iphone users have to sign 2 year plan. But yes $199 & $299 without contract would be fair for what you are getting above.
