    Pearl on Sprint: Sept/Oct?

Received an email from a very reliable source yesterday that the Pearl is slated to launch on Sprint somewhere around the very end of September/beginning of October. No word on if this will be the wifi equipped version (though I doubt it). Once I get some hard evidence or additional information, I will let you all know. theOutsider

Sprint should have had the pearl a long time ago. Suncom even beat them to the punch.

I doubt the Pearl on Sprint will have 3g ..but if it does..I'll be annoyed...I left Sprint (who I didnt mind) to go to T-Mobile (for the pearl pretty much) and a result is ..great phone, lousy reception, lousy data speeds.

Nice to see Sprint getting a new device. But, I'm one of those thick-headed guys... no qwerty; no thanks.

Why are people still using sprint? Its too expensive, terrible phones, and the nextel chirp thing is dead.
You guys must be waiting for that contract to be up huh? Wow still waiting on the pearl you must be kidding! Pearl 2 will be coming soon, I guess you guys will get it in 2010!

Since EVDO REV A is considered as a 3g network, it could be a 3G device
I'm french canadian so I can also help you in french, just PM me
UNLESS it is for a BETA OS, it's at your own risk and I won't support it

But just as the same...Sprint may simply have the Pearl connect at it's 1xRTT (EDGE-like) service.

All the BB they support right now are EVDO so why they would make one 1X

    Re: Pearl on Sprint: Sept/Oct?

The pearl is so old news. It is just like Sprint ot get a phone almost 1 year after it was released on other networks!! What kills me is that AT&T gets new phones like candy and T-Mobile isn't far behind, but Sprint takes almost a year ot approve just one phone that surely would have boosted their subscribers. A lot of people love the pearl(including myself), and I also left Nextel for T-Mobile just for the pearl. Makes me wonder what people at Sprint are thinking sometimes. They killed the best walkie talkie service in the world (Nextel) and now they're stabbing themselves daily!

There are parts of the country where GSM services aren't very present. Around here, the only options for service are Sprint and Alltel. T-mobile is technically here, but you're lucky to get a signal when in a building. AT&T/Cingular do not offer local service. Verizon is the same. So, there are some of us who are stuck with picking the lesser of two evils. It's not always a case of "Gee, I'm ignorant, I want to overpay... Hi Sprint." If you want a BB, in some places, Sprint's about the only option.

Haha thats so funny. $200 for the 8830, ask the 263 million customers Sprint reaches if the chirp is dead, and too expensive? I wont even go into detail on how many people I have set up with $50 for unlimited internet and tons of calling features, blows competitors out of the water.

Of course that is merely your opinion.

The Sprint Pearl more than likely wont have wifi, with the BB data plan required what would be the use for wifi, or am I missing the point of the feature?
