Thumbs up The new back panel / battery cover....

    Hey guys---

Out of curiosity, don't we think that some 3rd-party vendors are going to have a replacement/alternate back cover in a matter of months. If we don't like the leather option it ships with, I'm sure some vendors (are you listening out there???!!!) could hop into production and crank some alternate bad-boys out?

    Thoughts?

this is why we wait a bit after the devices come out for companies like Javoedge, Seidio and casemate to design something to cover it up. maybe a new back cover Seidio? some new JAVOScreens?? =)

not sure how I feel about that either. I wonder if it is harder to take out of a holster because of that.

No offense to anyone, but can we please another word besides "ghetto" to describe something?

Unless you grew up in the ghetto, how do you know or understand what the word means.

Just a thought. I am going to wait for the Thunder, the bold is nice and has nice features, but I want to try out the touch screen on that phone badly.

Ice you're too kewl. A homey with a Berry
Actually, I use the Seidio 2600 battery on my Curve. The back cover they sent to replace the one originally shipped that started peeling is made of a solid material exactly like the top, side, and bottom edges of the BB.
While I much prefer the nice slim feel of the Curve cover and don't particularly enjoy the block on the back with the Seidio, that consideration is far outweighed by the utility of the extended capacity.
The Apple 3g was rushed to market. MobileMess and security problems for business, absolutely terrible battery life. There've been frustrating delays relating to release of the Bold, due in part to the fact that RIM and At&t were not going to rush a product to market with terrible battery life. In spite of that, I'll be getting a Seidio extended battery to accomodate 3g, and it'll probably come with a more pleasing finish than the leatherette you've been concerned about in the postings above.

Stop worrying about minor stuff, i bet companies like Seidio will eventually create a back battery cover for extended batteries/sound.
