FYI, The FCC Approved the sale of Alltel to Verizon, you will be soon.

That may be the case but at least this is an "official" release and not a beta. Plus I'm running OS 4.3 so this is still an upgrade for me.

I missed the above link. I went to www.blackberry.com and went to upgrade from there. Will I have a bad version installed? Do I have to go the Verizon through smithco?? What have I done?????

The Verizon OSes are distributed through Smith Micro. Go to http://vzw.smithmicro.com/blackberry and follow the links.

I see that now. However I went to www.blackberry.com and went that route. Am I screwed? It seemed to work and my device says 4.5.0.077 (101).

If I download the one from verizon and retry upgrade will it detect if I did something wrong??

Please need advice. I followed screen directions very well I just did not get the OS from Verizon smithmicro?

Op nevermind! I didn't realize that you have to "opt in" through DM to load it.

Newbie question, what are the differances from 4.3 to 4.5? Is it more memory, faster browsing? Just curious I have 4.3 now and will try to upgrade as soon as I get home from work~via BB (wap.pinstack.com)~

My favorite differences are the Docs to Go and HTML email extra memory is great, too. In the browser, there is a search bar now for Google/Wiki/Dictionary.com when you hit Go To.

thanks for the download info cgaliffi

The VZW site wouldn't give me any further OS info, just takes you to the
download link once you put in a VZW #. (Sis has one).
If anyone on VZW has it let us know, thanks.
