mWager Mobile Wagering App w/ New Jersey Sports and Exposition Authority
Sona Mobile Holdings Corporation a leading provider of secure software solutions for the gaming, horse wagering and entertainment industries, announced today the launch of its mobile wagering application through its integration with the Scientific Games' Trackplay wagering platform for the New Jersey Account Wagering LLC and the New Jersey Sports and Exposition Authority. NJAW, a partnership between the NJSEA and Pennwood Racing LLC, is the exclusive provider of telephone and internet account wagering services to residents of New Jersey. mWager will extend the functionality of NJAW's current on-line wagering by giving its customers the ability to wager on thoroughbred racing through mobile phones and PDAs.
The launch comes only five months after Sona's announcement that it had entered into an agreement with Scientific Games Racing, LLC to provide the mWager mobile wagering platform to NJAW. This deployment represents Sona's second major launch of the mWager mobile wagering platform in North America in the last four months. Sona Mobile will receive a percentage of each wager transacted via the mWager application in New Jersey.
The NJAW Mobile application, powered by Sona Mobile's web and wireless platform, mWager, is available for browser access or thin client download at http://m.njawmobile.com/. NJAW Mobile will launch mWager initially on Blackberry and iPhone devices and will follow in the coming weeks with Pocket PC, Smart Phone and browser-based (WAP) offerings.
"We are excited to be in an elite group of racing jurisdictions to be live with mobile wagering," said Lennon Register, Senior Vice President of Racing for New Jersey Sports and Exposition Authority. "NJSEA-NJAW selected Sona's mWager mobile application to give our customers additional services through the convenience of placing a wager when they are away from home and even at the track on their own personal cell phones and PDA's," said Donald R. Codey, a senior executive of Freehold Raceway, and a Board Member of the New Jersey Account Wagering.
"We are excited to launch our second live mWager application in the United States," said Tony Toohey, President, CEO of Sona Mobile. "With this launch, we continue to establish ourselves as a leader of mobile wagering products in the horse race wagering industry and will continue to leverage our experience with our partners such as Scientific Games to grow our business even further in a convenient, safe, secure, and legally sanctioned environment."
