Sona Mobile Announces Sona BlackBerry(R) Media Player(TM), the First MultiMedia Software Application for Use with BlackBerry Devices

NEW YORK --(Business Wire)-- April 27, 2006 -- Sona Mobile Holdings, Corp (OTC Bulletin Board: SNMB), a leading provider of wireless software to the financial services, enterprise, entertainment and gaming markets, announced today that it is launching the first-ever BlackBerry(R) Media Player(TM), a software application designed exclusively to offer multimedia applications on the latest generation of RIM devices. It is designed for near TV quality playback of synchronized video and audio files. This groundbreaking application will be showcased at the Wireless Enterprise Symposium May 16-18, 2006 in Orlando, Florida, in conjunction with Sona's first client, CanWest Global.

Sounds great!!

I would expect you need an EDGE device (Even with EDGE, this might not be doable), or EVDO (much more doable) or UMTS (Just like EVDO) for this to work properly. Not only for data transmission speeds, but for processor speeds as well.

Just an update for you all. Got this today from Sona....

We are finalizing the content deals and going through carrier testing which is taking longer than expected. The service works today on the 8700 with it's 4.1OS. If you have registered, you will get a notice when the service launches and what content will be available initially.
