    monitor your data usage

Found this article this morning. I didn't see anything here when I searched "data usage", "monitor data", or "minimoni" so hope it's not a double post. Sounds like it would be great for those with out unlimited data plans.

Data usage software opens up beta

Josep just spotted an outstanding new program called MiniMoni, which gives you a nice, detailed report about your BlackBerry data usage. As someone who’s been known to go over the limit a few times, I can definitely appreciate the usefulness of this app, even if it’s just in beta. If you’re in the same boat, you can download MiniMobi for free at www.ehnert.net/MiniMoni/MiniMoni.jad, or onto your desktop from here.

Anybody try this yet? Doesn't say what models it works with, but screenshot size appears to be Pearl. Not sure if I want to try it on my Curve.

    Thanks for the find!

    Re: monitor your data usage

I tried it on my 8703e, and got a javax.microedition.io.file.FileConnection not found error. Anyone know what that means?

So I'll participate in the discussion in this forum as well ...

So it's me who wrote the app and can answer your question In and Out are the traffic counter which I use to calculate the daily and monthly traffic. They are reset on boot only and then count forever.

Have a look on my website (url was posted before) for further description of the screen content. Just choose MiniMoni from the left menu.

It does mean that you have a firmware version which does not support some of the Java classes I use.

    Re: monitor your data usage

    Hi all,

    Update to version 0.31.3:

    - Option added to switch if the counter should be reset by the end of the billing period.
    - Function to reset the period's counter manualy added to menu. Please take into account that the previous value is lost in that case. This will be changed in the next version.
    - Added a functionality to detect Power On / Off. In this case the graphic will be stopped including the timer. This should avoid the error "not responding" on switch off devices. In fact this is tested successfully by mrking.
    - Some minor changes to preferences window.
    - The stop watch takes into account the b/kB settings now.
    - Added a ceil function in order to show 1 k if less then 1024 bytes are counted (before it showed 0 k in this case). This does concern all fields which are effected by the flag show kB

Please see my website for a more detailed description of the functions (cannot post the URL)

Hope it works fine for all of you.
