Now that is a Crackberry addiction!
Whether he was up to no good or simply desperate to play BrickBreaker, a Mexican press attaché was caught on camera pocketing several White House BlackBerries during a recent meeting in New Orleans and has since been fired, FOX News has learned.

Wonder how many had security enabled? Besides you should never leave your blackberry just sitting on a table. Thats like leaving your kids out in the hall. Well maybe you could leave your kids out there but not your blackberry!!! lol
I was going to post this, if it hadn't already been posted. Seriously.. I mean I guess you HAVE to leave your BB out there, it's government work, after all. But.. man. You'd think they would put tighter security on that.
Ha, Haa!!!!! Busted! Cold-Busted!!!!! You think he was a little jittery when SS confronted him.....?
Well even if he stole them they couldn't access the data. I never worry about leaving my bb laying around. If someone steals it I can wipe it from my BES and have the provider disable it. Just a pain to get a new one and install my apps. This has actually happened to two of my users. One was just lost the other was stolen from a car.
Reason they left them is for meeting security:
Quintero Curiel took six or seven of the handheld devices from a table outside a special room in the hotel. [...] Everyone entering the room was required to leave his or her cell phone, BlackBerry and other such devices on the table, a common practice when high-level meetings are held.
Just to get this straight... these were American owned Blackberries left out of a meeting of Mexican diplomats with Prez Bush, right? Must be the Mexicans left their's tucked away in their coat pockets.
Great quote from the FOX news article
Whether he was up to no good or simply desperate to play BrickBreaker
from the LAtimes article posted above.
Friday morning update:
Mr. Quintero Curiel called The Times in Mexico City this morning to draw our attention to his statement attempting to clarify the affair. In essence, he calls the whole thing a misunderstanding. He says he left the meeting (which officials say involved Presidents Bush and Calderon) and found two BlackBerrys that had been left behind by their owners. Unable to determine who they belonged to, he took them with him and gave them to another Mexican official at the New Orleans airport, asking the official to return them to their owners. When confronted by U.S. agents at the airport, he explained everthing to them, and they confirmed his story, he says, and thanked him. "I hope that this matter will be clarified quickly so that I can continue with my daily duties," he said.
Misunderstanding !?! He was on VIDEO.
I thought about this again, and then saw this article which pretty much sums it up...
But once we get past the ridiculousness of the alleged crime, it’s easy to see why the devices would be appealing to someone in his position. The emails, contact lists and other data on the BlackBerrys are a treasure trove of information. In this case, it stands to reason that U.S. officials meeting with a Mexican delegation would have emails discussing negotiating strategies and policy ideas for dealing with Mexico
Espionage...plain and simple.
Shady business. Anyone who is anyone should have (at the very least) a password on their BB. Do it! Don't wait until it's too late.
I am SOOOOOOOOo LMFAO with this one!
One, to think he would get caught, I mean come on and two, he has a crackberry problem WAAAAAAy worse than I do...
