Loopt launching GPS Service To Find Friends on Blackberry

Loopt BlackBerry demo - Blackberry Beta Coming soon

CTIA Wireless 2008 - Loopt will be launching in Beta this month for BlackBerry GPS-capable smartphones. It will allow a user to note the location of a friends or where pictures were taken. - http://www.loopt.com

The service allows people to share their location with anyone in their contact list!

Privacy controls are in place so each user adjust security settings. That way you can keep your location private.

Until launch, in the meantime, you can add the recently launched Loopt FaceBook app. Once Loopt launches for Blackberries, you will be able to post your locations, status msgs and pictures directly from BB to Facebook friends.

johnny, it is actually on boost and sprint right now, set to launch on bb soon

so probably the same app!

okay cool, i was thinking it was the same thing or very similiar...now wouldn't your device need gps for that or would it triangulate baesd of towers

Finally, I had used this on my iPhone and it was a fun way of finding someone to do lunch with or have an after work drink. Installing now, review to come.
