    Hello,

    1. What are the most common smartphone problems that come into your helpdesk?
    Device stops getting email, because either mailbox is full or wireless is turned off
    device freezes or keys stop working
    Device is damaged from dropping

    2. How many different mobile OS’ does your IT department support and manage?
    Blackberry devices with OS 4.2 through 5.0

    3. What’s your IT department’s policy on supporting personally owned mobile phones or smartphones?
    We do not support personally owned devices and they are not allowed on our network.

    1) Since I'm in a Blackberry-only environment, easily the most common problems are trackball-related. Poor movement, can't click, etc... After that, broken USB ports.

    2) See #1. Blackberry only, ranging from 4.1.x through 5.x

    3) Absolute no-no. All BES-connected Blackberries must be company property. We will not put effort into fixing user's personal phones.

    Most Commons Problems:
    a. Mail Not Being Sent/Received
    b. Unit crashing/not operating correctly; typically requiring a "reboot" (turning on/off the handheld/removing the battery)
    c. Users wanting additional features/programs to run (often non-work related)

    2. How many different mobile OS’ does your IT department support and manage?

    Any/All - Regarding E-mail: Client(s) must work with MS Exchange

    3. What’s your IT department’s policy on supporting personally owned mobile phones or smartphones?

    Time permitting/not a priority

    Windows Mobile and Blackberry
    3. What’s your IT department’s policy on supporting personally owned mobile phones or smartphones?
    Were not the Goverment their ok with it
