Re: Listen to live music and radio via BlackBerry

I do find this an interesting product, however, my provider Verizon expressly prohibits streaming on the blackberry but you can use the 8830 I have as a modem and use that computer to stream. I have sent these folks an email asking for more information and appealing for a trial version so we can test it. I don't need streaming for entertainment, but I do have a use for it to listen to a low bitrate mono audio feed during a few months of the year. It would be great for that...it if worked and Verizon did not shut my account off.

Re: Listen to live music and radio via BlackBerry

I agree with the no free trial, no try the product. There are too many ifs. If it all works smoothly, if it's a package the the user really wants (which sometimes it's not after taking a look), if it's a product that the user's service provider doesn't interfere with, if, if, if.... What kind of 3d party doesn't offer a trial?

Re: Listen to live music and radio via BlackBerry

it should have a trial, all software should. But this application is no go for me anyway, unless somebody gives carriers in norway a idea it might be smart to give unlimited data plans to the customers.. for a affordable price.. he he.

It's not the $22 bucks for me - it's the principle of the thing. It takes time to install and try a product and then you find out you've got to buy a subscription to something or an update to something or another device to make it all work right or you find out the thing wasn't actually represented properly. How many times has a vendor raced to market with a product that ISN'T QUITE READY for prime time. It happens all the time. A developer should be willing to offer a trial whether the product costs $22 or $2,200.

Re: Listen to live music and radio via BlackBerry

Yep, it's live. I sent emobilesoft an email and complained there wasn't a trial. So now there is! Here's the info:

Hi Stackers,

As some of you are aware there is a new streaming music software called PocketStreamer. Lots of people were interested in the product but it was offered with no trial and nobody wanted to try it. So then I sent an email to the company and told them to set up a trial for us stackers, and lo and behold, we now have a trial!! Here's the info and enjoy!:

Re: Listen to live music and radio via BlackBerry

I have been using it for about 1 hour and it seems to be running quite well. This program might be a keeper.

Re: Listen to live music and radio via BlackBerry

I gave it a try. I was very surprised by how smoothly it played, but wasn't impressed by the station selection.

Nice little app, but not worth the $22, imo.
