Tinhte has posted hands on images of an upcoming Android smartphone by Dell, codenamed the Dell Streak. There's no word on availability and price yet but it makes you wonder if Lenovo, HP and other PC manufactures will jump in!?

    The Dell Streak will feature:
    -- 5-inch WVGA display (800 by 480 pixels)
    -- Android 2.0
    -- Wi-Fi
    -- Bluetooth
    -- 3G support.
    -- 5-megapixel camera with dual-LED flash
    -- MicroSD slot
    -- 1,300 mAh battery.

Thanks for the heads up srl7741!

The question is, will most buy this as a replace all OR will you carry it in addition to a smaller smartphone?(BB, iphone, Pre etc)

    I can't imaging carrying both.

Looks big but I'll have to hold it to know for sure. Android is on fire.

Yup. The best for Androids is still going to be 2010 & onwards.

Looks nice indeed. It's laptopish to me and I really think it'll work nicely. This is going to be a powerful contender for the iphone i believe IMHO. Worthy adversary

Back on topic, I'm not sure what to think of the larger form? Some will like the larger screen, some will be drawn by Android.
For me a phone can be too large and also to small so I always look at that as a deciding factor. Till the sales numbers speak out loud it's just going to be another option if others don't seem to be attractive. In the end the UI will be the driving factor. If it's easy to use and is complete I'm sure others will love it. To be a complete device in 2010 that means not just offering an attractive device with an easy to use UI. It also mean there must be methods to sync and Apps to add for that truly personal experience.

The unique size of this Dell and the right hand in the video is a match
