HP CEO Uses A Blackberry And Not HP Device?

Stupak indicated that Hurd may have sent or received an email via his Blackberry that indicates that Hurd knew about the proof into the leaks from HP's board, which resulted in unauthorized access to HP board members' phone records and phone records of multiple journalists. HP also announced that it will set up an award to sponsor 'privacy innovation,' which appears to be a direct appeasement to critics of the tactics used in the investigation.

The privacy issues are very ugly to be sure. However, if the HP CEO is truly using a competitor's device, that should be even more troubling for investors and customers. If it's true that CEO Mark Hurd uses a Blackberry, a wireless handheld email device made by a competing company, maybe his resignation might be the next to be announced. -- Read More

Thanks for the Sunday morning laugh. I read a similur blurb on C-Net about Hurd and his Blackberry and it seemed normal that he would use one. Everyone knows that for email the Blackberry is the only device to use.

That's like Bill Gates walking around with an I-Pod.

If negative publicity is all that HP gets out of this, they're well ahead of the game. The tactics the investigators used are fraudulent and illegal. If it turns out that Hurd knew and sanctioned what they were doing to get the info he wanted, he should be happy to sit in front of a congressional committee, rather than a jury.

~via BB (wap.pinstack.com)~I think in case using a blackberry is not such a bad thing. Coming from a sidekick user who had another company's "push email" service, the BB is top notch. Now HP is a hardware developer and currently its product does not puuuuuush. In this business time is money and from what I understand that crazy bald guy that the CEO of Microsoft uses a blackberry too. BB is a standard in the puuuuuuush business, I think HP should bite the bullet and get some BB connect on its devices and now well be talking. As for the bill gates analogy, that was funny!
