if you have imap turned on in your gmail account the email is effectively pushed and almost instantaneous.

The new Google Mobile App is supposed to replace that. See: Google Help › Mobile Help › Using Your Device › BlackBerry Devices › Upgrading applications

So far, it has not alerted me to upgrade from 2.0.5 to 2.0.6. I miss the manual "check for updates" in the Google Updater.

I'm in no rush because I'm not liking what I hear about getting a smaller icon.

Still no support for sending attachments?

Attachments should be included in basic functionality don't you think?

Thumbs down No HTML Support?

I like the speed, alerts, labeling, etc. but most of my email has LINKS which are essential to the message.

It's hard to believe that Gmail thinks that in the 21st Century text-only email is adequate...

you must have a different gmail than I do since my gmail absolutely supports html (including links).

Thank you for the update.

I use this app quite a bit for my work email, which I do not want pushed to my cell phone. I work out and about, away from the office, most of the time. Anything emailed to my work address is usually something that is handled in office. I still use a standard BIS @carrier.blackberry.net address, for anything urgent.

It seems like 2.0.6 has improved Label access. It's too early to tell, but it looks better, at least initially. I have to see if I must do a Refresh to check for new messages, even after Refreshing the Inbox. I'm also considering a secondary work email address to push via IMAP, but I haven't tried it out yet. I like the idea of having my mobile address separate from my primary work address.

does POP need to be switched off then? I'm still getting the delay receiving emails even through the gmail app.
