Getting directions to businesses now easier on Google Maps for mobile

If you've already got Google Maps on your BlackBerry, Nokia S60, T-Mobile G1, iPhone, or other smartphone, then you don't have to download anything to start using the new feature described below.

Today Google launched a server-side change that makes it easier to get directions to businesses. You can now get directions to restaurants, stores, and other points of interest by entering their names in the start or end point.

Until today, if you tried to get directions and entered a business name, "starbucks" for example, as the end or start point, Google Maps for mobile did not understand that you meant Starbucks the business. Rather, Google Maps for mobile would search for an address with "starbucks" in it.

Google is a great mapping application. Now if they would just add voice direction with re-routing it would be perfect

I started using Google maps when since it was release. I found it was much better to use and it gave you better directions plus more accurate location than yahoo maps and map quest put together.
Google does a very good job keeping the map system up to date.
The only map system I would use other than google maps is Streets N Trips which is outstanding but you have to buy the software.

    Keep it up google!!!

There's no love for the storm users on this one right? I mean that it works using cell tower triangulation but the GPS doesn't work with Google maps on the 9530, correct?
