Also if you have the phone locked and it does a WIPE after the Finder/thief enters the wrong PW 10 times, I wonder what effect that would have. It wont get past the lockscreen with another SIM in it, So would it send a message while still locked?? Prior to the Wipe I mean.

Well I think that once you put the other sim card in it would realize right away. ~via BB (wap.pinstack.com)~

In that case it'd be moot since you wouldn't be using the BlackBerry anyway. Afaik all GSM carriers use SIM cards...

Not sure about if it's locked, but having just changed SIM's recently (and I was an early adopter/BetaTester for the Bak2U a few months back ..) As soon as my new SIM was inserted and phone powered up the email and sms I pre-configured were sent out. is it the end all cure all for every possible theft scenario, probably not (as I can come up with atleast 1 solution that likely would bypass this, but you'd have to know a few things and your average thief probably would not be that advanced..) . However, is it the end all cure all for (and this is just guessing mind you) 98%+ of the scenarios out there, I'd say yes.

This a fantastic opportunity. It would be nice to have something prior to the sim being removed

What'd be perfect would be if it emailed as well as SMS.

next question then.....what happens if you have multiple sim cards (work/personal) and change sim cards. Can this app handle multiple simcards?

I have a few dummy sims that i keep in the phone in case i need information from device while using another
