The world's first BlackBerry store opened Monday in Farmington Hills.

The store is an exclusive deal between Ontario-based Research In Motion, BlackBerry's parent company, and Wireless Giant, which is headquartered in Madison Heights.

The retail center offers BlackBerry phones, accessories, add-on software applications and activation from AT&T, Sprint, T-Mobile and Verizon Wireless. The five-member staff also will train users at the store or on work sites.

The store is the first of its kind in the $140 billion wireless communications industry, an industry-watcher said. It is not a franchise and there are currently no plans to build another one, said Nadine Stafford, marketing director for Wireless Giant.

I drive by this store 3 or 4 times a week and I have been waiting VERY impatiently for it to open!! When I get a chance I'll stop in and let you know what I find!! Talk about a kid in a candy store!!

This is a wonderful idea...I do something similar, in regards to the additional apps, and training...but I'm mobile...how great it would be to have a store where people could come to...

I need one in long island I work at verizon wireless and because of the pearl BB sales have gone through the roof and there are so many prole that don't understand how rim works that would be great to send them there so they can hopefully Better explain
