Exclusive: Screen shots of the 8703e Blackberry

The screen shot below seems to indicate CDMA only. However this will still be a great addition to Verizon's lineup.

Our source indicates that the 8703e is CDMA only

So this means that this device is going to be GPS enabled? Or just traceable for "emergency services uses"?

The reason I mention this is because I see the little circle with the cross through it, that obviously doesn't appear on my BB (Or I have never noticed it). However, when I had a Sprint Samsung something or other, it had the same icon. When it was like it is in those pictures, that meant that "Emergency Service Locator" was on, meaning that EMS or 911 could trace the device. However you had the option to shut it off, whereas it would have a line through it.

So speculation...Is that a GPS enabled phone or just have the 911 features?

"The only themes on the device were Dimension, Insight and "Verizon" -- the one that I sent you the screenshot of, and that one was only in icon mode, no list.

No sign of Zen or Today, but I guess they might come around later on a production device or something. No idea if they work or not, but I'll try to load them later on this week and see if they work"

following email:

"Definitely no SIM card... just a sticker with the device info. It has an SMT date of 8/1 btw.

Default for location based data is 911 only "

Some Providers Default Themes Are Not very Appealing... Thank God you can change it.
When I had my 7100i it had that circle with a cross through it, That was for the gps I guess we will see if it is or not.

Please let us know if you can load the zen or today themes, or how about the Bliss theme for Plazmic.

Looking forward the release of the 8703e! Too bad Grand Rapids, MI doesn't have EVDO yet. My 7250 could use that added hispeed boost! I suppose if this gets released before EVDO in Grand Rapids that'll keep me busy!

I posted this elsewhere but cant seem to get an answer. My BB support guy wont help me other themes. Im looking for the Dimension Today theme for my new Verizon 8703e. I was able to load the vodaphone one. I see the dimension bb today in the Blackberry axl but dont know how to get it on the BB. Anyone have an idea??

You need to unlock the vendor themes by entering your vendors themes.
