    Duracell Releases myGrid Charging Station

While we're still waiting on the device manufacturers to implement a universal charging standard so I can get rid of my 3-4 home and car chargers, Duracell has said we shouldn't have to wait. They've officially released a new charging system called the myGrid (pictured below). It allows users to wirelessly charge devices made by Nokia, Motorola, Apple, and RIM. Simply attach the charging clip to the device and place it on the pad, it's that easy. It is USB 2.0 compliant, charges up to 4 devices, and according to Duracell charges just as fast as a standard charger. It sports an ultra-slim profile and can detect when being touched or when objects such as keys or coins are placed on it, and shuts itself off.

So for all of you out there with a Nokia for work, BlackBerry for personal use, and iPod for music, here's a universal charging solution to simplify things. The device is slated for release for in October, but currently there is no pricing available.

Check out more about the device here.

Will have to compare this to WildCharge as far as pricing goes once that info is available.

It looks really cool but in checking out the users manual, I found that there's a 'permanent' Power Clip (that you can't see) with 'adhesive backing' that is to be placed on the back of the device.

It appears that there's a 'snap in plug' that fits into the charging clip that you can see in the photo above.

How slim this Power Clip is could determine what kind of protective cover/holster/container you buy for your hand held device.

I for one don't really care to put anything adhesive on my phone or iPod.

Looks pretty close to WildCharge Az. I like the auto-shut off feature and Duracell says they're dveloping more 'sleeves' to support more devices.
