In the wake of this week's BlackBerry outage, the second such interruption of service in a year, John Lee cracks open the BlackBerry for CNET to see what makes it tick.

BlackBerry's latest model is the BlackBerry Curve 8310. Not only is it a cell phone and an e-mail and text-messaging workhorse, it also features a media player, Web browser, integrated GPS, and a 2 megapixel camera in an amazingly small and trim package.

I never knew the side rails can slide outwards and I've been struggling to take off the faceplate since the youtube video didn't show that you can just pull it aside.

Well Hayden, thanks a lot FOR THE CURVE STRIP SHOW, but my back cringed when I saw the whole lot of goodies spilling on the table - I quickly put everything back again - no harm done. But good - now i can order the casings and new screen because my Curve needs a renewal. Good stuff Hayden - but don´t be so merciless. Have pity !
