Cognitive Powers will launch BBSportsLines, a mobile application for blackberry devices to display up-to-date sports odds. The free application allows blackberry users to import up-to-date sports odds from a multitude of sports from around the world. Odds for side wagers, totals, futures, and even propositional wagers are available.

"Now, blackberry users can see the odds on the game while sitting in the stands, waiting at the airport, or talking around the water cooler at work. It is designed as an entertaining tool for sports enthusiasts," says Matt Lochansky, owner of Cognitive Powers, Inc.

Version 1.0 features sides, totals, futures, and props from around the world including baseball, football soccer, rugby, formula 1 racing, and more. Lines are provided from a leading offshore provider and uploaded to a blackberry device on request. It is recommended users have an unlimited data plan, even though data is only sent on demand.

For other devices, a mobile website is available by pointing a web browser to http://m.bbsportslines.com.

Doesn't work!

Got the download link and it failed.

Tried downloading it using the BlackBerry OTA Downloader and got the JAD and two COD files, but they failed to install.

Site is neat though (if you're into it).

Yes, thanks for the inquiry. I'm not sure what mobihand is doing - but have
contacted support to get answers. I'll let you know when it is running
again. I also have an upgrade planned for this week with performance and
convenience features, so I will also notify you once that release is
available.

Hi evreyone -

I do want to thank everyone for their interest. I am new to creating programs for the mobile world and figured out my .jad file pointed to the wrong .cod file - I've fixed it and hoping the app becomes available soon!

I will say the app is a first release - I wanted it launched with football season. It simply lets you view the lines - but is slow and takes a lot of trial and error to find the lines that are active... The second release is a huge improvement, although will require OS 4.2 (currently only 4.0 is required).

In the meanwhile, the mobile site (m.bbsportslines.com) has all the odds in a very quick and easy to use interface. No bells and whistles, but up to date information. Best of all, I have direct control over the mobile website and can make changes quickly - the app takes a lot longer (and more money) to modify.

Alright everyone - I believe v1.0 is available for OTA download. I also included the .alx and .cod in a zip file for desktop install in case the OTA fails (it worked on my 8130).

As I said earlier - I have a much better version in the works... This one has a problem with line feeds that are too big. I got a preview of the latest version on friday and passed it back to my coder for a few fixes, but it's almost ready to go.

the 'download FREE here' links works. it takes you to mobihand where you have to choose device and which method of download. i chose desktop and downloaded it to desktop and also chose to sms it to my phone. it arrived within seconds and the download has completed.
