There is a rapid share link in the comments over @ BBCool. I'm downloading that (or a virus) now. I'll share results in a bit.

Here's the online help link that is presented once you install the app:

    http://www.blackberry.com/select/bla...BerryUnite.htm

You can get much more info here.

Big disappointment is: it does NOT sync Tasks or Notes.

    Downloaded and installed...

Not quite a BES (of course), but the setup is easy and the shared file access is nice. If you have a WiFi enabled device, no more plugging in the usb to get that file/song you want ~via BB (wap.pinstack.com)~

Hmm, I think I'll reserve my excitement when we get it here on the Moon (aka. "Australia")...

    Initial reactions:

-Not all that I had hoped for-
You need to use an email account to setup your device with Unite!
I used my Gmail account and when my device was setup with Unite I ran into a familiar issue; I was sent a copy of every email message I had sent using Gmail.

This is the exact same issue everyone has with Gmail before they go into their blackberry email settings (Usually via carrier webpage) and apply the appropriate filters. The only problem now is that I do not see a way to apply these filters for blackberry Unite!
Long Story Short: Do not use a Gmail account to setup Unite!

    Contacts / Calendar
I'm disappointed that my users are unable to add to either the shared contacts or shared calendar, Just as I am disappointed that a certain devices calendar or contacts cannot be viewed/edited.

    Apps
I was really hoping to be able to push applications to my users - this is not the case.

I assume that RIM is planning many improvements for their Unite! service because other than the file sharing, its almost not worth using.

I just chose the "Free" option and left all defaults alone.

I think you need bb OS 4.5 for all the features to work. Which is not out yet ofcourse....man they take a while...
it's always greener with the other carrier...

I am using it with 4.5 (beta .18) and file transfer is pretty much all you get. I am also disappointed to see that there isn't a clear way to restore device data (wired or ota).

Here's and interesting off-topic side note:

Having all these devices side-by-side rebooting, I can clearly see that after-market LCD screen (from Cell Dr. .com) I used to replace a cracked screen is dramatically dimmer than the OEM screens.
