i saw that earlier. it appears to be their testing area. if they are really releasing on the 17th you would think that they would have a "coming soon" at least on their live site.

also, i thought there wasn't going to be an "e" (not that i care).

~via BB (wap.pinstack.com)~joe allen, that "e", and any of those letters after the model numbers, for that matter, are really just sort of indicators for the type of network and/or sometimes the specific carrier the device is programmed for. All 8703s are essentially the same device, the only difference is that the "e" version is CDMA on Verizon's network, as opposed to a different letter could mean a different carrier, a GSM model, or both. It really only matters if you had an unlocked device you wanted to use, because then you would need to make sure it was on the right network system(GSM or CDMA) for the carrier you were using, because you definitely can't use a GSM device on a CDMA network and vice versa. Hope this makes sense.

This is on a Verizon development server...it hasn't gone live yet.

    The "e" stands for "evdo."

Re: BlackBerry 8703e on Verizon's Website...

I have the 8703e for verizon and I love it. I just made 2 and a half days without charge. I am also very pleased with the full keyboard making it very easy to manage the 5 email accounts I have. It is my first blackberry and I love it. Can anyone help me on downloads for a bes setup. I have a full web browser but it is crippled to download apps and such. Can I just use intellisync to get new apps on my BB and what is the format? Does intellisync format the files for me?

    jsa11ey, Welcome to PinStack.

I can't help with the problem caused by your BES IT Policy. and If you can't do OTA installs you probably can't do DM Installs either. The DM installs use the COD/AlX formats and the DM Apps loader will not format the files from other formats.
