    Research In Motion (RIM) has just released a number of Beta Development Tools to help developers create many types of BlackBerry® applications. With these tools, you will be able to create new:
    • Browser applications
    • Rapid applications via BlackBerry® MDS Studio
    • .NET development with the BlackBerry® Plug-in for Microsoft® Visual Studio® 2005 & 2008
    • JavaME applications via the BlackBerry® Java® Development Environment (BlackBerry JDE)
    • Rich client applications with the BlackBerry® Java Development Environment
    • Themes and games via the Plazmic® Content Developer's Kit
    Each beta release of software will include:
    • Software package with completed installer
    • Known issues list
    • Condensed documentation

    If you wait for Tmo to update their OS you go gray first, just grab any official 8320 update from Orange or Rogers for instance and you'll be fine, Tmo has great customer svc, but the absolute worst carrier as far as OS updates
