    Quincy what are you doing, do I have to call up Frankie? I tried to understand that log, but it don't seem scary at 1st. I only use my phone for personal use. I am sure a company wouldn't like this.

    Re: big brother Quincy (RIM) is watching you...

    The quicy tool is a debug tool that sends reports when occurs certains events like resets and exceptions.

    you can deactivate it(go to the app, click and choose deactivate) but is always running!!!!!!!! this means that is imposible to uninstall (advance options->applications), even a reflash is useless, waste time!.

    the readme for this infamous app says:

    ################################
    ######## Uninstalling Quincy ###########
    ################################

    You may delete the configuration file and ui through Blackberry's Options->
    Applications->Show RIM Apps menu.

    The required quincy file, net_rim_quincy.cod, is a library that is continually
    running. In effect, you are not able to delete it like the other files.

    (1) Enter debug mode:
    * press ctrl-alt-(lowercase b)
    * hold ctrl while entering D,B,M,D
    (2) Soft reboot
    * the three finger salute: ctrl-alt-del
    (3) While rebooting, perform (2) again.
    (4) You are now at the debug screen. You can use
    javaloader -x erase net_rim_quincy.cod [and other files]
    ---------

    Ok I admit it, I have this app installed in my BB too, I used for some test but Now I want to uninstall it, the instructions talk about for 72XX, 8XXX models but not for 7100 series.

    Please someone in this planet helps me to set me free.

    thank you

    Re: big brother Quincy (RIM) is watching you...

    Checking my 8700, I find nothing related to a "Quincy" file in my application list anywhere in the phone. Are you sure this wasn't installed by your BES?

    Re: big brother Quincy (RIM) is watching you...

    Quincy tool is not app integrated by default with the handheld or installed by my BES, it was installed with the classic Application loader(blackberry desktop manager).

    the 7100i don't response when i press ctrl-alt-(lowercase b) or hold ctrl while entering D,B,M,D or ctrl-alt-del, for that reason it's impossible remove it. If somebody knows a similar method for 7100i would be excellent.

    Um dosent RIM have to disclose somewhere that you're sending anon info to them? Most programs ask you like winamp, windows media player, etc... I'm wondering if we SHOULD be concerned here.

    This app appears to be a trouble shooting device that has to be loaded in order to be activated. It doesn't appear to be loaded on any of the three devices I have. At least none of them have a module that says anything about Quincy.
