I went to mobile.blackberry.com and downloaded the app. When I open it, it says go to blackberry.com/go/yahoo which I did and clicked all the links provided with no luck of getting it to work. And I am on cingular/AT&T network. Please gimme your suggestions.

Sorry. The Yahoo IM does not work on the ATT/Cingular network. It says so on the Blackberry.com site and on the Yahoo IM Site. We all have the same problem. Go on the Media Net and download Oz.

If its like the T-Mobile OZ app it is an IM app that lets you log into one IM program, ICQ, AOL, and Yahoo, maybe MSN - I can't recall.

The big catch with OZ - if its like T-Mobile - is that is uses SMS messages to IM so you want unlimited SMS before using the OZ program.

if you go to yahoo.com from your browser you can use YIM for free if you have an unlimited data package. I am also on the Att/Cing network and that is my work around. Otherwise I just use Yak-on for one time $20.00 fee.

If you trust yourself enough there is a workaround posted here in the forums where someone has uploaded the Yahoo IM service book that can be dl'd and installed on your unit. You will have to go back and reinstall your normal service books afterwards. On a side note, once I did that on my 8700 I was able to use BB Messenger also.
