    i think i figured out why so many settings are gone. i removed the older version first because it said "xfile" would probably not work correctly if i installed the updated version.

    did removing the older version remove these settings im missing?

    if so...why doesnt the update include everything anyway?

    one more thing...if what i said is true...does anyone have the older version handy so i can update it again without removing the older version first?

    thanks

    ok ive decided that its ok not to have the themes handy since you can choose which ones to have on your phone so that it doesnt take up more space than it needs...but all i have under options>adv>apps is "xPlayer"...the other ones are gone like "xFile" does that matter.?

    Hello lucky13mt,

    Actually we didn't change any settings and the themes are still available. Please uninstall the software and download it again.

    Sorry for disadvantages.

    just dled it again and it still only has the settings i mentioned...

    theme: only gray and default

    under applications: only "xPlayer" (no xFile or any of the other x files)

    ^if this isnt a big deal that it only has "xPlayer" in apps let me know cause if it doesnt matter its no big deal to mean.

    HEY two suggestions here for SHAPESERVICES...

    1- xPlayer with customizable equalizer
    2- xPlayer with a folder/file refresh option so that you dont have to manually rechoose folder/file or remove folder/file from list.

    IMO this will get you a lot of love from the Stackers here lol...

    Hello lucky13mt,

    xFile is required for xPlayer to work.
    Please denote the way you updated: through Desktop Manager or OTA. Please uninstall the version you currently have and download again from wap.shapeservices.com

    Please inform about the progress. You can send me a PM if you like.

    I've been trying all the great tips listed to make my xplayer work, but still getting "Access to file system error" when trying to access my media folders. Any other suggestions ?

    Hello,

    It is a known issue.
    Firstly please check if SD card is available, the device should correctly display the SD card. Then make sure that files and folders can be opened by other applications. The problem might be general and not directly connected with xPlayer.
    If all of the above working correctly please follow the steps:
    • If the Media Card was not activated, go to device settings and activate your Media Card;
    • If the mass storage mode is ON and your device is connected to your PC, the Media Card is not available for 3rd party applications in this case;
    • Sometimes after disconnection from PC Media Card cannot be detected on the device. Please make a soft reset of your device;
    • Access might me blocked by mobile carrier IT Policy. Please contact your System Administrator to resolve the issue.
    • Please set all permissions to Allow by doing the following:
    1. Open Options/Security/Application Permissions.
    2. Select xPlayer.
    3. Select Edit Permissions from the menu.
    4. Configure the Security Permissions to "Allow" for all categories.
    5. Save the changes.
    Then please try to launch xPlayer once more.

    Hope this helps,
    Irene

    So xPlayer is no longer free? What I'm a registered user of the previous version, but then I have to wipe my phone? I have to now buy the newer version?

    It's still free. It's just after the 7-day trial period, xplayer will ask you to register the product free of charge.

    You sure? It says right here on the site that SHAPE linked to,

    "You can download the software and run trial for free. After trial use expiration you will get the invitation to buy a license code to continue working".
