    Re: wiping clean

you can use the Desktop Manager. I don't know step-by-step for that, but plug it in and play around.

or, if you have a password set on your device, type it in WRONG 10 times, and it will wipe it's data

    Re: wiping clean

yeah. As far as I know there's no way to wipe it with a keystroke, or button.

    Try this
    Complete Wipe from the start

    1. Start by Downloading and installing JL_Cmder, see that link for instructions.
    2. Download and execute on your PC the latest software for your Model BB. See this thread for links to the sofware download site for your carrier, BlackBerry Desktop and Device Software Download Sites.
    3. Connect you BB to you PC
    4. Open JL_Cmder,
    5. Select the Wipe Option (5)
    6. Follow the instructions in this thread very carefully, How To: ReInstall OS When Computer Won't recognize The Device Is Connected

    Re: wiping clean

I think that's making it more difficult than is necessary. The desktop manager method, if it works (they seem to mention 850 and 950 models, maybe it's super old?) seems a lot simpler.

    Re: wiping clean

You should be able to clear out 3rd party apps with the DM - however if you need your call logs, messages, contacts, calendar, etc off the machine you really need to find a way to do a wipe. Can you not use the enter key?

    Re: wiping clean

he should be...the click on the trackball and the enter button are completely separate entities so he should still be able to wipe from the BB itself without having to get onto DM

    Re: wiping clean

he says it won't click...not roll

not clicking to most of us means he can't push it down to activate the menus...not rolling would be a dead trackball

but he may have used the wrong term...hope he posts back
