Question Windows media player 11 to load music??

Just noticed that Windows media player 11(WMP) sees My BB 8100 as "Blackberry SD". That got me wondering if it is possible to use WMP to load music onto my 8100, and play it with the BB player. Any thoughts?

    thanks much!

i'm not familiar with WMP11, but if it can handle custom paths, then make sure your songs go into \blackberry\music\

    ~via BB (wap.pinstack.com)~
I presume that transferring using WMP11 is faster than using the Roxio mgr. No?

Not sure if faster or slower, better or worse, harder or easier. Just something I noticed and thought it might be handy, if say I was at a friends house and wanted to load up some of their music and not have to download/install DM. Also, maybe I havent seen it yet, but Roxio doesnt have a "shuffle" button. Silly as it sounds, picking only 2gigs of songs from 30+gigs isnt always easy, Shuffle helps a little here.

I like WMP 11. I like it much better than roxio. I usually drag and drop, but it's good to know there are other options.

both of those are horrible...just use iTunes you can drag and drop from there too...but remember that it WILL transfer protected music to your BB but the BB CAN'T/WON'T play protected music

Like I have one piece of DRM'ed BS in my 15GB library of music! LMAO!

I use WMP11 to add music to my BB. Pretty simple really.

laff...you don't know what you're talking about then...only way you get DRM'd music in iTunes is if you buy it from their store...the program iTunes is just a media player and 15GBs come on...you're just scratching the tip if that's all you got

Re: Windows media player 11 to load music??

I am not sure about the merits of the iTunes or any other program over WMP11 but in answer to Brandxman’s original question yes you can use WMP11 to transfer music to your Pearl. Having said that the music files are not stored in the BlackBerry folder on the MicroSD card so you need to know where to look for them. Hopefully these instructions will help -

Before you start you need to ensure that
    • The music files on your PC are the mp3 format
    • You have a music library set up in WMP11
    • You have the Desktop Manager or Device Manager installed on your PC
    • You have a memory card on your Pearl
    To Sync music
    1. Ensure both WMP 11 and your Desktop / Device Manage are running
    2. Connect your Pearl to your PC
    3. If prompted enter the password on your PC and your Pear to enable the Pearl’s Mass Storage Mode
    4. Click on the Sync tab on WMP11 – it should show a device called BlackBerrySdCard (or something similar) as being connected
    5. You can now use WMP11 to Sync music to your Pearl’s MicroSD card
    6. Disconnect your Pearl from your PC
To play the music on your Pearl
    1. Launch the media player
    2. Select Music
    3. Press the Menu key and select ‘Explore’ from the menu
    4. Browse to the ‘Media Card’ and then the folder called ‘Music’
    5. You should now see your folders / files here
    6. Press the Menu key and select ‘Play’ or ‘Play All’
Enjoy your music wherever you (and your Pearl) may be.
