Why are downloaded .mid's quieter than built-in ones?

    Hi All.
I have downloaded tons of ringtones that are .mid files and they all are so much quieter than the rongtones that came with my Pearl. I tried using an app to increase the velocity of the midi tracks to 127 but that didn't change a thing. Any ideas?

    Thanks,
    Swoop

    swoop, welcome to PinStack,

Changing the velocity won't change the volume, you will have to change the amplitude.

    hope this helps
    Rcbjr.

Hey Rcbjrm, thanks for the reply.

I guess I thought the velocity WAS the amplitude from what I had read. Maybe I will try it in Adobe Audition and see if I have better luck in there.
