Hey guys, I just got my first Blackberry from Cingular (a pearl) and I was ... BlackBerry Pearl forum
Whats the best way to get Gmail on your Pearl?
Hey guys, I just got my first Blackberry from Cingular (a pearl) and I was reading over the boards on the many different ways to Gmail on your pearl (as I use it for all of my personal and work email) but most of the information was conflicting. So I was wondering what you guys thought was the best, fastest and easiest way to read and send email with Gmail on a Blackberry Pearl from Cingular.
Thanks so much!
hey auror welcome to the stacks! just go to gmail.com/app on your phone browser. It should get you to the gmail app and then you can directly access your account from your phone.
or just PIN me. just mouse over the 8100 under my avatar and I can help you out, just click on it and it should show my PIN

I prefer the simpler gmail-over-BIS method.
The gmail app didn't work when I downloaded it, so I deleted it.
I don't want to be stuck with something that doesn't work. If an app or product fails to function as advertised, I don't use it. (I guess this is because I use Mac, and it works. Unlike windows, where there is a perpetual state of "????".)
I think the easy was is login into gmail online and making sure you have pop forwarding turned on in your gmail account. The login to the blackberry email setup and enter your gmail address and password. Works like a charm.

That's the only way I know of doing it, this link should help you.
Huge fan of "gmail-over-BIS" as well - now that it works again I had to do the POP forwarding to a blackberry.net account for the past two days as a work around though. Link below should help:
The Gmail java app is very nice too, especially since it maintains the threading structure of the emails (when viewed on desktop browser) - I pretty much use the application to keeping my gmail inbox organized. The application interface is a lot better than logging into the mobile gmail portal.
