i havent got a memory card yet. plan too, a 2gb one, but i thought maybe i should ask all of you if there really is a difference between companies, in performance or anything like that. i plan on getting a name brand but theres a few so, i dont want to get the cheaper lets say if its gonna be crappier than the expensive one. which name brand do you all have, and do you have any problems with it?

    BUT!
Some of the larger quantities, like 4gb or so won't be recognized by your device without a special app... I think they've made one...

    Unless someone can say otherwise?

Mine... I have no idea what brand it is...
Hahahaha! It just says micro sd on it!

2gb sandisk and the 2gb is only supported with the .64+ OS i believe. I picked up mine off amazon for like 84 bucks i think before shipping.

I have a 1gb card from Sandisk, but I'm getting a 2gb one for Xmas. But be SURE you get MICRO SD not mini SD like the title of the thread states!

Been using Kingston and Sandisk SDs for a few years. I think Sandisk has a better reputation, or at least they have better marketing, however they do tend to be a little more expensive. I noticed also that Corsair has some SDs on the market; I don't know when they entered the SD media category but they are pretty solid with their computer RAM business.

Haven't had any problems with Kingston brand SDs. I usually lose them before they fail on me, so I really can't comment on longevity. And as another poster mentioned, be sure to get Micro SDs (less commonly called Transflash SD) - not Mini SD.

Bought mine from newegg.com which has pretty decent prices.

I prefer sandisk, I have never had to reformat mine, but with other brands periodically they will need to be reformatted.

I just ordered a 1GB Kingston MicroSD from buy.com. Their price is $33.95, there is a $9 rebate (good only until the 16th, I think), and if you order using Google Checkout (there's a link on buy.com's checkout page) you'll get another $10 off, so it winds up being $14.95 when you're all done. (Make sure you change the default shipping option to "economy" from the default, else you'll get charged something like $6 for shipping. The "economy" shipping is supposed to be something like 7-10 business days, but I recently ordered a regular SD card and I think it showed up in about 3 days anyway.) Seems like a pretty good deal to me.

Hopefully, it'll work out just fine.

There is also a 2g card out there for $20.00 of an off brand and I have not seen a difference between the off brands and the name brands.
