Your PIN is a one of a kind series of numbers and letters that identifies your BlackBerry.

To view it go to: Options> Status. You will see your PIN there.

I've been asked dumber questions from smarter people. How was I to know you weren't serious?

Well I do have a silly question. Why do random people exchange PIN numbers? Isn't that like exchanging phone numbers with strangers?

Not in my opinion because you can always remove them from your list if don't want to talk to them

PIN exchange is much like WLM, AIM, or Yahoo. It is social networking where YOU have the choice whether or not to provide your real name. There is no way, without YOU giving the info for someone to get your phone number or any other information. If someone adds my pin and they turn out to be a donkey-butt, I delete them. No different than if they turn into a donkey-butt on WLM or AIM.

I personally have made some really great friends through PIN exchange. Then there are some morons. But where does that differ from any other IM platform. The only difference is this IM goes with you wherever you go. Some of the people on my list know my real name and even my phone number. Many don't. It is up to me who gets what information.

I also have trade related contacts on my list. I have Theme Makers on my list. Of course I also have social contacts on my list.

Why would you give someone your MSN screen name? Why would you give someone your email address? Answer these questions and you answer the question, "why would I give someone my PIN?".

Hmmm. Well I know I don't get it because a lot of people seem to do it.

With email addresses and phone numbers I only give them to people I know.

With IM, if someone I don't know messages me I usually don't reply.

I guess I don't know what you all talk about. You're all in different parts of the country I assume.

Maybe like ringtones I'll never get it. Lol
