I would like to be able to watch YouTube on it.
I want a wayyyyy better camera. With all that technology can do now---gimme at least a 4mp option for the camera if I have a memory card to store it all on. Is that asking too much?

A better battery that comes WITH the phone.

Something like what the iPhone should be able to do---sync with iTunes. I would pay for a program that would do that.

    Hello mjkone,
BlackBerry users will soon be able to access ATM machines directly from their devices

Sure I can login and see my account status on many of them, but if I could go 2 or 3 weeks without using my laptop, I'd be ecstatic.
    Read that ... It's comming soon ..

1 and 5) I think can be done from the mute button on the top of the phone, never used it but read it in another thread somewhere.

    4) I've not tested it yet but the 8100 does pair with my bluetooth GPS I'm just not paying loads for Uk maps for the thing so don't know if it works.

My Pearl just needs a little love. You know, just some cuddle time in the evenings. Seriously though I would like longer battery life and the ability to take capture video.

The ability to bank online and pay my bills would be great. I saw something from Bank of America that said that they are doing Mobile Banking but it's somehow not available in Dallas yet...whatever.

And yes you can mute incoming calls by pushing the button on top of the pearl. Works like butter.

THE MUTE BUTTON IS AT THE VERY TOP OF THE DEVICE. IT HAS A LITTLE SPEAKER ON IT. GIVE IT A TRY.

Let me preface my opinions by saying I find this phone to be the most complete, lightweight, user-friendly phone I have ever had. The only reason I got this phone was because I was picked to be the BES admin at my company. I initially didn't want a BlackBerry because I thought it was too bulky. I saw the Pearl and said, "Okay, I can deal with that." I now find that I can't be without this phone. It keeps me on time with appointments, provides me with any name and number at my company whenever I need it, allows me to answer emails instantly, I can quickly look up just about anything on the internet, and I think I saw it outside last night, washing my car.

    This friggin' phone rocks.

So, what is it missing? I have a little list here that I am working on and would like to see if anyone else either agrees, disagrees, or has some ideas of their own.

    1. Bluetooth AD2P - The media player on the Pearl is good enough for me. I can listen to music whenever I want. But wouldn't it be cool to listen through some Bluetooth headphones?

    2. Fully functional Internet Browser - I like to be able to pay my bills through any website that I can. The only problem is that the Pearl doesn't let me access a few of the sites that I pay bills on (specifically my bank). Sure I can login and see my account status on many of them, but if I could go 2 or 3 weeks without using my laptop, I'd be ecstatic.

    3. VideoCam Recording - Many people wonder why anyone needs this on a phone? Sometimes I just find myself in a situation where I want to catch something on video, even if it's just for 20-30 seconds. I don't take my Video Camera everywhere I go, but I do bring my phone.

    4. George Foreman Grill attachment - EVERY PHONE SHOULD HAVE THIS! Errr... maybe not.

So what do you think? I am sure I am forgetting things. It is still just a smartphone and not a home entertainment center, but I am sure the ideas I threw out there are pretty realistic (except for the grill - although I do hear they are doing amazing things with USB now).
Solution for #2: Try Opera Mini.

    Solution for #3: Not sure.

Solution for #4: Check my above post about your Pearl washing your car LMAO

I am going to try Opera Mini. If it works, you and I can be BFFs and I will let you borrow my car-washing Pearl. It's a special edition.

Too bad there isn't an Oprah Mini. Can you imagine keeping a little Oprah in your pocket and then whippin' her out whenever you wanted to freak someone out with her O-So-Oprahistic Mind Powers and then she would offer for you to be in her book club and you could reach under your chair and find keys to a 1985 Ford Escort (GT of course!)

Damn that Oprah Mini is the best.

Thank you all for the feedback. I think using my Pearl at ATM machines would be cool except I don't see how it will fit in the little swipey slot thing.

I have heard something about controlling airline ticketing through your cell phone. I think that would be sweet as well.

Re: What does the Pearl need?

I'm surprised nobody's added .pdf support, which I think would be huge. Yes there are 3rd party apps that do a barely adequate job of this, but none of them that I've found will work on a document that isn't in your email box. MANY times I've tried to download a train schedule or map only to have it completely incomprehensible because it's in pdf format. I've read elsewhere that this was a licensing decision on RIM's part. Dumb move on their part--PDF's are pretty much universal for simple visual information exchange.

That would kill the battery big time. EDGE isn't bad. I wouldn't want to need a bigger battery to make up for speed.
