The Nokia BlackBerry Connect should work just as well as the true BB's simply because they use the PIN just like BB. I haven't tried one, but don't see why it wouldn't be just as reliable - unlike WM and their activesync. Or the IMAP idle like iPhone has - blah hate that.

Good luck mate on your purchase.Don't even try to utilise the GPS the battery life really sucks big time on it also because it is classified as a multimedia device BlackBerry connect is not available for it. ~via BB (wap.pinstack.com)~

agreed... what is interesting is looking at some of the other threads in this particular sub forum, the problems some are having with their Pearl, the bugs they are working through etc, so its not always a rosy picture, however the moment someone decides to try out another phone and says so, then that person is treated as a traitor. Variety is the spice of life, and I am glad we all don't have the same tastes or have to use the same kind of phone... but that's just me...

I am a former Nokia user and, though I loved what Symbian could do and the form factor of many of their phones, I could never get used to how slow the UI is. Maybe it will get better. For me, Blackberries have similar abilities and so much more. I get intrigued sometimes by new Nokias coming out but I doubt I will leave anytime soon.

I saw the n85 in a local mall, and it was a very nice looking phone. Salesman tried to steer me to another model, for some reason.

Battery life would also be a concern, but hey, hope he's happy with his new phone! There ARE other options out there, variety is the spice of life!
