Seems as though the lag has been getting a bit annoying. Sort me out with some techniques to insure its steadyness. Gratzi.

Battery pull every once in a while helps. Maybe once a week or so. Pull it out while the phone is on and leave it out for at least a minute or two.

Hold alt and press LGLG to enter the logs. Hit menu and select clear log. This frees up memory as the logs can get kinda big.

Free up memory by deleting preloaded items and other applications you might not use. Get a MicroSD card and put your ringtones and stuff on it instead of device memory. Search the forums for more info on deleting preloaded items.

As I never actually look at the logs - apart to delete them, I have now unticked every log option so my log file is now always empty and the Pearl seems to be generally a little faster

Run an application loader and delete unwanted programs, ie language and input support that you do not use. This will both free up memory and avoid the annoyance of the pearl auto deleting call logs and sms as well as improve the efficiency of the device.

~via BB (wap.pinstack.com)~ also, if you setup a device password, you get the option of having a memory cleaner. Clear your cache, pushed content, history and cookies from the BB browser.

They're for debugging. It's safe to delete them.

Well for one the god does not have a data plan.... in fact I am got rid of it (not sure if I am suppose to do that but of well ) and got the lowest plan possible 300 min + 400 txt messages = $45.00/MO.

At any rate, I dont use the browsers but regardless it still lags and even going to the SYM section lags really bad for some reason. Did not use to before. I deleted the Games and Help parts of the phone but still kinda slow at various times. let me know por favor!

    HEY MANG,

I tried the above, and keep the available memory high, and my pearl flies.

One thing though- I had the same problem with the symbols list (assuming thats what you mean by SYM). AFAIK, that's to do with the individual themes. The ones with transparent backgrounds take a little time to bring up the SYM list. Have you changed theme recently?

Mayb try changing to one without a transparent background? Or to one of the RIM ones, and see if theres any difference...

    HEY MANG,

It sounds like your using a 3rd party theme, correct? The SYM button reacting slow is usually a good sign that the theme is a "slow" theme, it can happen. Try switching it to a basic theme, and see what happens...
